Curriculum Intent
“To develop a love of learning and life in a caring and Christian Community”
As a school, we have a clear vision of the education we want to offer and of the characteristics we hope to develop in each and every pupil. We aspire to be a school which offers high expectations, respect and enjoyment, in order to provide opportunities for children to develop as confident, independent learners who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider society.
The school values its Christian ethos and is committed to developing our children’s moral, spiritual, social and cultural understanding which are underpinned by our gospel values.
At our school we provide a rich and varied learning environment that allows children to develop their skills and abilities to their full potential. The school’s broad and balanced curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure coverage and progression with frequent opportunities to embed prior learning and deepen understanding. It provides pupils with practical and memorable experiences, in addition to diverse and rich opportunities from which children can learn and develop a range of transferable skills and values.
The curriculum design ensures that the needs of individual and small groups of children can be met within the environment of high quality first wave teaching, supported by targeted, proven interventions where appropriate. In this way it can be seen to impact in a very positive way on pupil outcomes.
Our extra-curricular clubs give learners the opportunity to access a wide range of activities, to encompass all interests outside of school hours. We encourage the children to have resilience and a desire to overcome challenges, developing healthy minds, healthy bodies and enable them to be ready for each educational transition and their future.
