The governing body of Stock C of E Primary School has 12 members, plus the head teacher and deputy head teacher. These governors include:

The Role of the Governing Body
The role of the governing body at Stock C of E Primary School is to:
- Provide a strategic direction for the school;
- Act as a critical friend to the head teacher;
- Ensure accountability.
It has a responsibility for seeing that the school is run effectively and promotes high standards of educational achievement for all its pupils. The governors’ role is to take a strategic view, and work in partnership with Alina Clay (Headteacher) and her staff team. Their work includes, amongst other things, determining priorities as identified in the School Improvement Plan and ensuring an appropriate budget is set. In addition governors help review policies by evaluating their impact, ensuring the effectiveness of safeguarding and health and safety; assisting with appointments to the staff team and evaluating the school’s performance.
