Year 4
Class teacher – Mrs Rickwood
Hello! I am so happy to be your teacher in Year 4. I would like to share a little bit about myself with you. I am married and have two children, a boy and a girl, called Will and Charlie (Charlotte). We also have a hamster called 'Cookie' who is not very sociable as he is still very young.
In my spare time I enjoy watching cricket, especially my son, who plays for a local team. I am also a qualified Level 1 cricket coach! I spend a lot of my time in the summer coaching, playing, scoring and watching cricket! I also enjoy musical theatre, and enjoy my time spent watching shows, both locally and in the West End of London. I also spend a lot of time watching my daughter perform in her school shows as well as her theatre school.
PE days:
Monday & Tuesday – on these days, children should wear their PE kit to school.
Curriculum overview:
Please see below the curriculum overview for this half-term. Please discuss with your child at home the learning they are completing in class.
Homework expectations:
Homework is set on Friday and is due for return on Wednesday.
In addition to the weekly homework, children are also expected to read daily for at least 10 minutes, practise their weekly spellings, maths facts, and times tables.
Homework 12/6/26:
For Maths this week we have been focusing on time, converting time from analogue to digital and between the 12- and 24-hour clocks. Please could the children complete the consolidation worksheets.
Our spelling focus this week is plural possessive words that indicates something belonging to a group. Please make sure that the children include the apostrophes when practising their spellings. Your child should have brought these home already, but you can find a copy here to download as well.
Please continue to practice for your maths facts test and your times-tables.
